GigReal Privacy Policy

GigReal App LLC (“GigReal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides the GigReal website located at https://www.gigrealapp.com, the GigReal mobile application, and related services, software, tools, communications, and features (collectively, the “Service”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. SCOPE

This Privacy Policy applies to information we collect from or about you through the Service, including through the Site, the App, support interactions, linked account features, Smart Capture, receipt capture, notifications, and AI-powered features. GigReal’s Terms of Use are incorporated herein by reference.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

2.1 Account and Identity Information

  1. Name, email address, phone number, and username
  2. Authentication tokens and account identifiers received from authentication providers such as Apple or Google when you use supported sign-in methods
  3. Account preferences and settings

2.2 Gig Work and Financial Tracking Information

  1. Earnings data, mileage logs, shifts, and hours
  2. Expenses, recurring expenses, and receipt-based expense records
  3. Goals, budgets, schedules, and related tracking data
  4. Work-related analytics and performance data
  5. Information imported from linked third-party gig platforms

2.3 Images and Uploaded Content

  1. Receipt images captured or saved through Smart Expense Capture
  2. Screenshots or images submitted through Smart Capture for trip or work-entry recognition
  3. Support attachments, issue reports, and other content you choose to upload or submit through the Service

2.4 AI and Chat Data

  1. Prompts, questions, and messages you submit to GigReal AI
  2. AI conversation content, which is logged through GigReal’s service infrastructure and retained as described in Section 7
  3. Conversation reference titles stored in your account for organizational purposes
  4. Smart Capture inputs and related metadata
  5. Feedback and other content associated with AI-powered features

2.5 Location Information

  1. Precise or approximate location information, where enabled
  2. Location-derived data used for mileage tracking, Smart Capture, trip-related workflows, and related functionality

2.6 Purchase, Subscription, and Credits Information

  1. Subscription status, plan type, and trial status
  2. In-app credit balances and usage history (credits used to connect gig accounts or unlock features)
  3. Transaction-related metadata and app-store purchase records made available to us
  4. We do not receive or store your full payment card details when purchases are processed through Apple.

2.7 Device, Analytics, and Technical Information

  1. Device identifiers and push notification tokens
  2. App interactions, session data, and usage patterns
  3. Crash logs, diagnostics, and performance information
  4. IP address, operating system, and app version
  5. Analytics and attribution data collected through third-party mobile SDKs (see Section 8)

3. SOURCES OF INFORMATION

We collect information:

  1. Directly from you when you register, use features, submit content, or contact us;
  2. Automatically from your device and your use of the Service;
  3. From linked third-party accounts or services you authorize;
  4. From authentication providers (such as Apple or Google);
  5. From app store platforms;
  6. From service providers and SDKs that help us operate, analyze, and improve the Service; and
  7. From support, analytics, infrastructure, or security tools acting on our behalf.

4. HOW WE USE INFORMATION

We may use personal information to:

  1. Provide, operate, maintain, and secure the Service;
  2. Create, authenticate, and manage accounts;
  3. Provide work tracking, earnings analytics, budgeting, receipt capture, notification, and linked account features;
  4. Process and store receipt images and other uploaded content at your direction;
  5. Support Smart Capture, recognition, classification, summaries, and automation features;
  6. Provide GigReal AI-powered chat and personalized insight features;
  7. Deliver push notifications, alerts, and account activity updates;
  8. Personalize and improve the Service and user experience;
  9. Monitor usage, quality, reliability, and performance;
  10. Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
  11. Communicate with you about your account, support, updates, product announcements, and important notices;
  12. Enforce our Terms of Use and other policies; and
  13. Comply with applicable legal obligations.

5. PRODUCT IMPROVEMENT, ANALYTICS, AND AI DEVELOPMENT

We may use information collected through the Service, including usage patterns, diagnostics, and service logs, to improve our products and services, including to:

  1. Improve app reliability, performance, and feature quality;
  2. Analyze usage patterns to understand how features are used;
  3. Improve recognition, classification, and related systems; and
  4. Evaluate and improve AI-powered features based on service performance data.

With respect to AI conversations specifically: conversation content is logged through GigReal’s service infrastructure for operational purposes such as reliability monitoring, support, and service improvement. We do not currently use raw conversation content to train or fine-tune our own proprietary machine learning models. If this practice changes in a material way, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide notice as required by law.

6. SMART CAPTURE, RECEIPT IMAGES, AND UPLOADED FILES

Some features let you capture, scan, upload, or process screenshots, receipt images, or other files through the Service.

On-Device Processing. Receipt images captured through Smart Expense Capture are processed on your device using Apple’s built-in optical character recognition (OCR) technology. No image data is transmitted to GigReal’s servers unless you affirmatively choose to save the expense.

Server Storage. When you save an expense, the recognized expense data and associated receipt image are uploaded to and stored on our servers as part of your account records, until you delete the expense, delete your account, or we otherwise remove it in accordance with our retention practices.

User Control. Saving an expense is an affirmative action by you. You may delete saved expenses and associated receipt images from your account at any time.

Smart Capture Screenshots. Screenshots or images submitted through Smart Capture for trip identification and work-entry recognition are not retained as standalone files on our servers. However, trip details and metadata extracted from those screenshots — such as trip identifiers and related information — may be logged through our service infrastructure for operational purposes and product improvement, subject to our general data retention practices described in Section 10.

7. AI FEATURES AND THIRD-PARTY AI PROVIDERS

GigReal AI is an artificial intelligence-powered chat experience built into the App. This section explains how data is handled when you use AI Features.

How It Works. GigReal AI can respond to general questions about the App and can analyze your personal GigReal data—such as earnings, trips, and expenses—to provide personalized performance insights. To generate responses, your inputs and relevant account data are shared with third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf. We do not publicly disclose the specific AI providers we use.

Conversation Logging. AI conversation content—including your prompts and the AI’s responses—is logged through GigReal’s service infrastructure (including our logging and backend systems) for operational purposes such as support, reliability monitoring, and service improvement. In addition to GigReal’s own logging, our AI service providers also process and may retain conversation data in accordance with their own data retention policies and the contractual restrictions we have in place with them. You should avoid submitting sensitive personal information in AI chat beyond what is necessary to receive assistance.

Conversation Reference. A brief reference title is also stored in your account to organize your AI conversation history within the App.

AI Outputs. AI-generated responses are for informational purposes only and do not constitute financial, tax, legal, or professional advice. GigReal makes no representations regarding the accuracy or completeness of AI-generated content.

Opting Out. Use of GigReal AI is optional. Your account data is not shared with AI service providers unless you actively engage with a GigReal AI session.

8. ANALYTICS SDKs AND MOBILE TECHNOLOGIES

We and our service providers use third-party mobile software development kits (SDKs) and similar technologies within the App to:

  1. Authenticate users and maintain sessions;
  2. Deliver and track push notifications;
  3. Analyze app usage, performance, and reliability;
  4. Measure feature adoption and user behavior;
  5. Support attribution, diagnostics, and crash reporting;
  6. Detect fraud and improve security; and
  7. Maintain and improve the Service.

These SDKs may automatically collect device identifiers, IP addresses, usage events, session data, and similar technical information. We do not publicly disclose the names of individual SDK providers, but we require them to handle data securely and in accordance with applicable law. We do not use these SDKs to serve third-party advertising or to share your personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising purposes.

You may manage certain device-level permissions (such as location access and notifications) through your device settings. Note that disabling certain permissions may limit the functionality of some features.

9. HOW WE DISCLOSE INFORMATION

We may disclose personal information to the following categories of recipients:

  1. Cloud hosting, storage, database, and infrastructure providers;
  2. Authentication and account access providers;
  3. Analytics, diagnostics, attribution, and performance SDK providers;
  4. Communications, email, messaging, and push notification providers;
  5. Linked account and gig platform integration providers;
  6. AI service providers acting on our behalf to power AI-powered features;
  7. Customer support and helpdesk providers; and
  8. Legal, compliance, audit, fraud prevention, and security providers.

We may also disclose personal information:

  1. If required by law, regulation, legal process, or government request;
  2. To protect the rights, safety, property, users, or operations of GigReal or others;
  3. In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets (with notice to you as required by applicable law); or
  4. With your consent or at your direction.

GigReal does not sell personal information.

GigReal does not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

We may use and disclose de-identified or aggregated information that does not identify you for analytics, reporting, product improvement, research, and similar purposes without restriction.

10. DATA RETENTION

We generally retain personal information for as long as your account remains active or as long as needed to provide the Service. Retention periods vary based on the nature of the data and our operational needs.

If you delete content or request account deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is necessary or permitted for:

  1. Legal compliance and regulatory obligations;
  2. Tax, accounting, or billing records;
  3. Dispute resolution and enforcement of our agreements;
  4. Fraud prevention and security;
  5. Backup recovery and operational continuity; and
  6. Other legitimate business purposes permitted by law.

AI conversation logs retained in our service infrastructure are subject to the same retention and deletion practices as other user data. We may retain de-identified or aggregated information that no longer identifies you indefinitely.

11. ACCOUNT DELETION

If available in the App, you may initiate deletion of your account directly within the App. When you request deletion, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except for information we are required or permitted to retain for lawful purposes as described in Section 10.

Deleting your account may also result in the removal or disconnection of:

  1. Linked third-party gig accounts;
  2. Stored receipt images and uploaded files;
  3. Saved records, entries, and preferences;
  4. In-app credits and subscription entitlements; and
  5. Access to the Service.

GigReal is not responsible for any loss of data or entitlements resulting from account deletion.

12. PRIVACY RIGHTS AND CHOICES

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:

  1. Know or access certain personal information we hold about you;
  2. Request deletion of your personal information;
  3. Request correction of inaccurate personal information; and
  4. Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (GigReal does not sell or share personal information for advertising purposes).

You may also:

  1. Manage certain account information directly in the App;
  2. Manage device permissions, such as location and notifications, through your device settings;
  3. Unsubscribe from marketing emails through the unsubscribe link in those emails; and
  4. Submit privacy requests by contacting us at support@gigrealapp.com.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will respond to verifiable requests in accordance with applicable law.

13. SENSITIVE INFORMATION

Certain information we collect, such as precise geolocation data, may be considered sensitive under some privacy laws. We use such information solely to provide, maintain, support, secure, and improve the Service and not for cross-context behavioral advertising.

14. SECURITY

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These include encryption, secure servers, access controls, and confidentiality obligations for personnel who handle your data.

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. In the event of a data breach involving personal information, we will respond in accordance with applicable law, including notifying affected users and relevant authorities without unreasonable delay where required. Our response will include assessing and containing the breach, notifying affected users with information about what occurred and steps they can take, and remediating vulnerabilities to prevent recurrence.

15. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The Service is intended for individuals who are at least eighteen (18) years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 18, we will take steps to delete it promptly as required by law. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us at support@gigrealapp.com.

16. INTERNATIONAL USE

GigReal is currently intended for users in the United States. If we expand internationally in the future, we will update this Privacy Policy to address additional jurisdiction-specific disclosures, rights, and data transfer mechanisms as required.

17. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version and revise the “Last Updated” date above. For significant changes, we will notify you through the App or by email. Where required by law, we will obtain your consent before implementing changes that materially affect how we process your personal information. Your continued use of the Service after the updated Privacy Policy becomes effective constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
