How automatic mileage tracking works

Every work drive is logged automatically, with GPS and timestamps — the written record the IRS expects for the mileage deduction.

How it works

Tap Go Online when your shift starts. GigReal records your route in the background, splits it into drives, and adds each one to your mileage log with date, time, and distance. Tap Go Offline and tracking stops — personal driving stays personal.

Why it matters

At the 2026 IRS rate of $0.725 per mile, every 1,000 miles you log is a $725 deduction. Most gig drivers who don't track miles leave thousands on the table every year.

The one setting that matters

Location must be set to Always in your iPhone Settings, or iOS will cut tracking when the app is in the background.
